Tamil Reading Fair

“Tamil Reading Fair” was conducted in Arangamangalam village, Kurinjipadi Block of Cuddalore District. This fair was organized like a market which had lot of stalls. In these stalls, Sentence Cards were placed. After registration of the children, they walked into stalls, and started reading the sentences from the ‘Sentence cards’. Children read a sentence card and once they read fluently, they took the card with them. Then they moved to the other stalls and did the same. Once a child collected 10 sentence cards, he/she was awarded with “I can read sentences” certificates. Children were very enthusiastic and enjoyed a lot in this fair. The village people were also interested and encouraged the children. The ‘Reading Fair’ day gave a feel of festival day in the village.
