Marching towards Space…
AID INDIA’s Ariviyal Anandam programme launched its first ever educational missile in CM Kothari Aided Middle School by conducting Science Exhibition. Our trainer Mr. Arun, Science ESA, took the challenge and trained 45 Children for this Exhibition. The program was inaugurated at 10 AM by Ms. Manimegalai, BRC Supervisor and Teacher Trainer in SSA, Lalgudi, by cutting off the most auspicious Yellow ribbon followed the lightening of the “Scientific Kuthu Vilakku” (fully made up of vegetables) by our Honorable chief guests.
Mr. Jayaraman, AEEO in his special address said that he was very happy to see companies like Kothari Sugars and Chemicals initiating and supporting children education and motivating them in all dimensions. He also appreciated AID India for their educational initiatives in Tamilnadu and pointed out the importance of science in the present context. He motivated every child and gave feedback to all students about their performance at the exhibition. He actively participated and did all the experiments along with the children.
Ms. Manimegalai, BRC Supervisor and Teacher Trainer in SSA, Lalgudi, shared her experience that she came to the Kothari factory during her childhood days and thought she should come to the same factory in future and now, that she has become a respectable person. Now she is our chief guest, and said that her dream had come true after a long time. She appreciated our ‘Ariviyal Anandam’ program and spoke about its importance.
Ms. Evlin Jenat, AEO talked about science and its importance in our daily life. She wanted India to be a developing country always and not a developed country. She explained that we are not supposed to be satisfied after we have achieved our goal but we have to work beyond our goal and need to be developing always. She said our former president APJ Abdul Kalam’s 2020 Dream will come true even before 2020, if students like in Kothari school will exist every where in India.
Mr. Pari and Mr. Annamalai, Science BRTs, talked about the relevance and existence of science in our daily life. They said that they were surprised after having a huge number of children from III to VIII standard participating in the Science Exhibition and said they both liked very much their way of demonstrating about the science facts to all.
Sky is our limit…!
In this Ariviyal Anandam Science exhibition, 45 students participated and demonstrated various science experiments. Children were divided in to 16 groups and each group was named with 16 Indian Scientists. Some of the students explained about the current scientific crisis like Air Pollution, Importance & necessities of the herbs etc and how to overcome the same.

Schools from Kothamangalam, Mettupatti, Sembarai, Ramanathapuram and Alanganallur participated in the exhibition. Cumulatively 700 Children from the above 5 schools, 40 AID India full timers, 70 people from Kothari, and around 60 parents and few old students participated and made use of this exhibition. All the participants were excited about the active participation of our 45 students and their demonstrations on the experiments.
At 5 in the evening, valedictory function started and Mr. Madheshwaran, Correspondent, Mr. Jayadevan, Consultant and Ms. Sumathi Kannan, Project-coordinator from Kothari group and Ms. Gomathi from AID India decorated the function with their speech.
7 students were selected and certificates were awarded to them. Also a Science Kit and 2 Concept booklets were given for the winners. Certificates and 2 concept booklets were distributed to rest of the students.
Arise, Awake and Stop not till the goal is reached…
In the exhibition we could find some of the children from neighboring schools took notes from the demonstration of our students and from few charts displayed. We could find one such student, Kanaga Raj, studying in VII Standard in PUMS, Alanganallur was taking notes from almost all the experiments, clarified his questions with the demonstrators. We hope this is our success.
