AID INDIA Toy Collection Drive
Opportunity to donate your used toys to a worthwhile cause
We at AID INDIA are planning to organize a Toy collection Drive to bring home a few toys to the pre primary / Balwadi kids in the age group of 2 to 5 years, in both rural and urban areas of Tamilnadu. We request your support in this collection drive and take up an active role in the development of one of our nation's most valuable natural resources - our children.
We have placed a Toy collection box at our office premises where interested individuals can drop in their toys.

Joy of a Toy

Do you remember receiving a gift as a child and opening it to find a toy you really wanted?
Do you remember those feelings of happiness?
Though toys are usually considered as play thing for children, it is important to remember the impact of toys in a child’s life. A toy not only develops the motor skills and entertains the child, but owning a great toy instills a sense of pride in the child. We all have one or two toys in our childhood which bring a smile on our faces...
We at AID INDIA found it difficult to accept that such small joys were being denied to lots of poor children living in villages and slums.
Thus, AID INDIA TOY COLLECTION DRIVE was initiated with an aim of spreading joy to the lives of children.

 These children have toys today. Thanks to your support.
The toys were distributed to the children of a balwadi centre at Valluvar Kottam on 13th July 2009 and Eureka School, Koovathur on 19th July 2009 and neatly arranged on a colorful stand. We have finalized a list of balwadis and will be supplying toys to them in the coming weeks.
To kick-start the Toy Collection Drive, we at AID INDIA approached the corporate companies who whole - heartedly supported us in this cause. In each company we found a huge response and excitement. People donated generously and in many places some people went out of their way to buy and donate new toys.
 Kothari Group of Companies and Sella Synergy who have supported Eureka Child in many of our initiatives were the first to pledge their support and placed the toy collection box in their premises. Sella Synergy went an extra mile and made arrangements to place our collection Box in the common office area so that the staff from the other corporate companies in the building could also support this worthwhile cause. The Kothari Group has promised to take this drive to their associate companies as well. Tapasya School of Art and Kothari Group gave us valuable feedback and suggestions on improving our posters and other PR material, which on implementation resulted in greater reach. |

 We take this opportunity to thank Les Expressions, Chennai for designing the toy collection box, our carpentry unit at Koovathur for making the colorful stand for the toys, RJ for designing the posters and for extending help in every possible way, to make this drive a success. We have also started the toy drive at Cognizant, Polaris and TCS. We will cover the exciting events happening there in our next update.
Team Everest Cognizant Technology did an amazing job by collecting 46 cartons of toys in just 2 days. |
